President's New Year Message 2010
Happy New Year 2010!
January marks the start of a new year and we are grateful to God that many of us are still alive to witness the good that is awaiting us this year. At the start of every New Year, we take time aside to prioritise and plan for the coming months with a target of achieving the goals we may have set as individuals or as groups. In Rotary, January is Rotary Awareness month a time we can use to extend the life of Rotary to outsiders. |
|
For this to happen, we in Rotary ourselves need to be knowledgeable about Rotary; what our ideas, beliefs, vision and mission are, what activities we undertake, why we do what we do. It is therefore a great time to become a Rotarian in Action if up to now you've only been a Rotarian in name only.
It is also a great time to reflect on the past, to thank God for the success, to appreciate team work, to learn from the good choices and follow up and strengthen in the same vein this year. If there have been bad choices made, personally or as Rotary, it is a great time to change attitudes and work on making it better. Therefore, in all our endeavours, I pray we enhance the spirit of Rotary, friendship and service. May we be productive in our work, in the work or Rotary and in service to the communities around us. In all, may God shine His favour upon all our endeavours and may we all have a happy new year.
